Full Text

From the Halifax (N. S.) Journal.

Commodore Rogers's statement of his late engagement with the Little Belt, as we expected, varies, in every material point, from that published by us the day after the arrival of the Little Belt in this port—and satisfied we are, that in its material parts, it varies from the truth—that it is a perversion of every thing honourable a mixture of plausibility & falsehood— yet happily descriptive of the Commodore's chivalry-his great sensibility—and his humane and generous heart.
