Full Text

Since John A. Logan has appeared before the people of the state and they have had the opportunity to see what manner of man he is in, many of the more respectable of the radicals are disgusted with him, and there are many such who will not vote for him. One of this sort said to us the other day that he was satisfied Logan is a mere ranting demagogue, in whom no confidence can be placed; that he would, if it should be his interest, desert them just as readily as he had deserted the democracy. He said that such a man should not have been nominated, and was unworthy of public confidence. There are many respectable radicals who feel just as this gentleman does. And they feel the same way towards Beast Butler who voted 137 times for Jeff. Davis, to be a candidate for President instead of Douglas. There are plenty of Logans and Butlers who have joined the republicans for no other reason in the world than to get office, and they'll desert them just as soon as they can do better somewhere else. That's the character of Dirty Work Logan and the republicans are beginning to find it out.
