Pirates.—The U. S. corvette John Adams, Capt. Dallas, arrived off the Bar at Alvarado, on the 24th June, from Saccophesus. Capt. D. reported that the piratical vessel which took the French brig from Marseilles, and which was afterwards recaptured by the Mexican armed schooner Aone Whack, and sent in with 14 pirates on board in irons, was captured by an English brig of war near to Lake De Ferminos—the pirates ran their vessel on shore and escaped. The brig entered the Lake, but getting in shoal water was obliged to return—they reported 4 or 5 vessels having been taken by the pirates and were lying in the Lake, but had not boats nor men sufficient to recapture them. Two of the above mentioned vessels are English, and have had every soul on board murdered in a most brutal manner. The captain of the English gun brig intends demanding the 14 pirates sent into Alvarado. The John Adams was to sail with a Mexican gun boat in company for Lake De Ferminos, in quest of pirates.
