Road Matters Taken Up By County Board

County commissioners referred to their road committee last night applications for the construction of lateral roads at several places along the keys.

Last year the then board of commissioners, in discussing the county's surplus, said that part of it should be used to build lateral roads on the keys wherever settlements justified connecting them with the Overseas highway.

It was pointed out that roadways of that kind ultimately will result in the development of the keys to a great extent, though it was pointed out that, before agreeing to construct a lateral road, there would have to be proof that it was necessary to the development of the county.
