THE STEAMBOAT ROCK ISLAND. - The steamboat Rock Island, which is now under course of construction on the Ohio River, it is thought will be completed and brought around on the Fort Madison trade during the first week in May. The colors of the Rock Island to be presented by this city, and for which an appropriation was passed by the City Council, are to be ordered in Chicago tomorrow. They consist of five pieces of bunting, to be raised on various parts of the boat. They will cost nearly or quite $200. The pennant will have inscribed on it, "City of Rock Island," and while it floats from the forward flag pole the boat will bear that name; but it is registered and known as simply the "Rock Island," applicable alike to both city and Island. The first name was too long for the Packet Company to handle.
