Belfast, June 28. - Unconfirmed reports received here from Dublin this noon tell that the gates and the main entrance of the Four Courts had been battered down and some of the walls almost leveled.
I. W. W.'s In Dublin
Dublin, June 28. - The premises in North George street occupied by the communist party and the I. W. W. as headquarters, was fortified after the government attack on the Four Courts had begun and government troops were fired upon from the newly fortified building.
It is believed here that the Irish regular forces under Michael Collins are sufficiently strong and well equipped to deal with the situation in Dublin. A majority of their arms, including machine guns and artillery, have been supplied by the British government under the terms of the Anglo-Irish treaty. They are manning their own artillery.
There are several thousand British troops still in Dublin and it is estimated that, should Collins request aid, troops would be placed at his disposal as was done when the Ulster government desired military assistance in putting down the rebellion in the north.
