Full Text
During the month of November 1959, Nome had the honor and the privilege of being selected host to the League of Alaska Cities convention. During this time there was a large banquet held in honor of the city managers and visitors from all over the state. At this particular banquet, there was a case of sparkling burgundy purchased by the City to be served at the banquet. The bill for this item was not presented to the City until June 1961, and the present council promptly approved it as it was a legitimate outstanding debt. It was purchased solely for the purpose stated here and was not dripping with venom as the public was lead to believe.
