Lower California.—A letter from San Diego, June 7th, says that everything is quiet in Lower California. Several persons, who were under arrest, and in danger of being shot, have been liberated upon paying—not into the treasury—but into the private pocket of Governor Esparsa, the modest sum of one thousand dollars each, for their lives, and the privilege of leaving the country with their families and effects. Life and liberty can be purchased like other commodities in Lower California, with money, as well as elsewhere.
