A letter from an officer on board his Majesty's Ship Magicienne, received by the packet, states that when that vessel, now at Jamaica, reached Barbadoes, they found a very great mortality had been occasioned there and in the other Windward Islands by the yellow fever.

The army from the 1st of May last, had lost 50 officers. The 6th regiment, which landed at Barbadoes on the 5th of August last, had lost 120 men. The crews of his Majesty's ships on that station had also been very sickly, and lost several officers.
