Full Text

A few nights since, a young woman was picked up by a boat in Boston harbor, nearly exhausted. She appeared to have been kept from sinking by the buoyancy of her dress. On her recovery, she stated that she had been robbed in the street, of a sum of money, and then thrown from the wharf into the water. Doubts being entertained of the truth of her story, it was ascertained, on further inquiry, that she had been seen, that evening, badly intoxicated, and it is supposed, that, in that state she fell into the water without assistance from any other person.
