MILWAUKEE--Probably nobody loves him any more -Sen. Joe McCarthy (R-Wis) that is.
The city's Women's Service Club had a debate scheduled on the subject: Resolved that Sen. Joseph McCarthy has performed an outstanding service to the American people.
Attorney Henry Reuss agreed to take the side against McCarthy.
Since then, he has announced candidacy for Democratic nomination to the U. S. Senate, and is a prospective opponent of McCarthy, if the GOP wins the 1952 nomination.
Chairman of the Wisconsin Young Republicans, Lloyd Tegge, was asked to supply a speaker supporting McCarthy.
He replied that on some other subject, yes he would find a speaker, but on McCarthy, no.
