Extract of a Letter from Barbados, to his Friend in this Town, dated September 18th. 1761.

"YESTERDAY arrived here his Majesty's Ship Amazon from England, with Express for our Governor, the Commodore, and Lord Rollo who commands the Land Forces; and by her we have an Account, that there were 60 Sail of Transport Ships, which had sailed from England for New-York, to take on board the Soldiers there, which 'twas said was design'd for this Island; so that we can conjecture Nothing else but that this Expedition must be against Martinico, which God grant them Success in."
