LONDON. July 14 (AP)— Britain, unshaken after ten months of German air blows, began hitting back with fearful might, but is still only beginning with her growing air power, Churchill told a thunderously cheering crowd of civil defense workers.
He delivered virtually the same fighting message twice. The first to 6,000 clamoring veterans of the defense of London in a great review at Hyde Park, and later to a luncheon of the capital's organized civil defenders. He said: "The time has come when Germans should be made to suffer in their own homeland and cities something of the torments which twice in our lifetime they have let loose upon their neighbors and upon the world. We have now intensified, in the past month, a systematic, scientific and methodical bombing, on a large scale. of German cities, industries and other military objectives."
