Full Text

On the 22d Instant, from between 8 and 9 o'Clock 'til past 10, we had hard Rain, attended with very severe Thunder and Lightning, which struck the Top of Mr. Lee's Chimney, and threw down near a Cart Load of the Bricks; it proceeded down the Funnel into the Chamber, where Mr. Lee lay dead, and burst off the Cornish of the Mantle Tree, then continued its Course down the Chimney as far as the lower Room, where it burst thro' the Bricks into a Closet, the Window of which is broke to Pieces, and some Part of the Sulphureous Matter went quite into the Cellar, but did little or no Damage. It is remarkable, that tho' the Family was in Bed in the other End of the House, they knew nothing of the Accident 'til the Morning.
