DISBARMENT PROCEEDINGS.

Cases of Fifteen Lawyers on the Appellate Division's Calendar.

The motion calendar of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court yesterday contained the names of fifteen lawyers against whom disbarment proceedings have been brought. In nine cases the Appellate Division was asked to appoint a referee to hear petitions by the grievance committee of the Bar Association for action against the lawyers for unprofessional conduct. One lawyer asked to be reinstated, and the cases of four against whom the Bar Association has recommended action were adjourned a month.

The Appellate Division was asked to confirm the report of the referee in the case of another. This is the largest number of attorneys appearing before the court in years.
