This office of Register of Deeds in the county of Cumberland, having been vacated by the resignation of the late Register, Isaac Ilsley, Esq. who has for a number of years past discharged the duties of that office with great credit to himself and to the entire satisfaction of all those who have had occasion to transact business with him. I therefore beg leave through the medium of your paper, to recommend Capt. NATHANIEL MOODY, of this town, as a gentleman worthy of being the successor of Mr. Ilsley in this office; and well qualified to perform the business of it. The books being now in the office of the Clerk of the Court of Sessions, no records can be made until a Register is chosen and qualified to enter upon the duties of the office. The public will therefore be subject to that inconvenience until they unite in support of one of the many candidates, that have by themselves or their friends, solicited their votes on this occasion. It is hoped that the people will take this circumstance into consideration and remove the inconvenience, by an union of suffrages in favor of this gentleman here proposed by
