Austrian Noble Who Resided at La Crosse Is Alleged to Have Been Foully Slain.
La Crosse, Wis., Aug. 22. - [Special.] - Investigations, about completed, into the death of Florin Kral, the Austrian noble killed here a few nights ago, leave no doubt in the mind of Special Administrator Hickisch that his death was due to cold-blooded murder. He has made formal demand on the police to investigate.
Saturday all the banks were visited and not a one of his bonds or securities were found. His pocket book, which contained a few hundred dollars on the evening before his death, has not been located and several articles of jewelry have also disappeared.
Several physicians were called to examine the wounds on the body and they all give a verdict that Kral came to his death by blows and advance the theory that the bruises on his body could not have been made by the cars, but that he was probably sandbagged and placed on the tracks so that the limited might run over him and destroy the evidences of the crime. The Burlington engineer and fireman did not see him before he was struck, another fact that seems to indicate that he was laid dead on the tracks.
