East Tennessee.
We are pleased to hear that enlistments are progressing rapidly in Col. Gules's First Tennessee Regiment, and Col. Stokes' cavalry. Every man who has been driven from his home and family by the guerrillas should enter the service without delay, and bare his arm to execute the just vengeance of his country on her enemies. Tennessee refugees! by your suffering families, by the wrongs your country endures, by every noble motive which can inspire men, we call on you to imitate the example of others and rally around the old flag. From what we consider good authority, we learn that Forrest crossed the river a few days ago, with his whole force, not exceeding 1,500 men. The rebels who are famous for shooting with a long bow, usually put it at from 3,000 to 6,000, but the force in this instance was counted with considerable accuracy.
