Eight Men Were Antlered and a Business Session Held.
Members of the local lodge of Elks and their friends had a very enjoyable time of it Saturday evening, combining both business and pleasure.
Eight candidates were initiated at the business session, which occurred in the early part of the evening and several other matters of interest to members of the lodge were discussed including arrangements for the opening of the new vaudeville theatre under Elk auspices.
Following the business session an entertainment was enjoyed. Rupert's orchestra furnished the music and several pleasing numbers were presented by members of the Digby Bell show troupe.
Among the prominent Elks present were: Governor Sarles, U. S. Senator Hansbrough. Pres. J. P. Foote of the Scandinavian-American bank of Crookston, John Carmody of Hillsboro. M. A. Baldwin of Casselton and Senator F. S. Talcott of Buffalo.
