BAY CITY, Mich., Oct. 5.-Henry Tacey, a Hampton township farmer, was brought to Mercy hospital today in a serious condition, suffering from injuries suffered when he was pinned beneath a heavy thrashing engine and a wagon near his home last night. Tacey was driving the engine and wagon over a frail bridge when the structure gave way, letting the engine and wagon fall into a ditch. Tacey remained pinned beneath the engine until 20 men could be assembled to release him. It took their united strength to lift the machine from his body. Steam and hot water dripping from a valve, scalded Tacey's arms and chest. He suffered a double fracture of the thigh and a fracture of the right leg. He may recover.
