TURN ABOUT.--Has the world rearer wonders than are exhibited by Locofocoism? Mr. James Buchanan, of Pennsylvania, deems it necessary forthwith to withdraw his name from among the Presidential candidates. Our wonder is not at the withdrawal-but that the name should have been connected with the place at all. Is not "truth stranger than fiction." Here we have a man resigning, for the present, at the hands of the Democratic party, for especial reasons-a man who proclaimed to the world that "if he thought he had a drop of Democratic blood in his veins, he would open them and let it out." What an appropriate postscript could he have made with this sentiment, at the close of his letter to the Democracy of Pennsylvania, declining a place at the Baltimore Convention! -Hartford Cour.
