Mrs. J. C. McCoy spent the week end visiting her home folks at Peru.
Ken Chambers spent several days in Piedmont the past week, on business.
Senator G. K. Kemp, of Romney, spent last Friday night here with friends.
Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Hiner moved this week to an apartment over R. A. Wilson's store.
Miss Rebecca McWhorter and brother Boyd, spent several days the past week in Cumberland.
Ben Hack, of Winchester, and Fred Hack of Baltimore, spent several days here last week.
Rev. and Mrs. Clagett and son, who spent a week visiting in Virginia, returned home last Friday.
Prof. Wilfred Naff of the High School faculty, spent the week end at his home in Pennsylvania.
Miss Bean, who has been visiting home folks in Bean Settlement most, returned to Washington Sunday.
Mrs. Jo L. Cosnerbaugh and Mrs. Kate McCoy went to Cumberland Monday to spend a week.
A number of our young folks went to Petersburg last night and attended a Masquerade dance there.
Tom Sherman and John Wroce left Monday morning for Washington where they expect to locate.
Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Paukel left Monday morning for a visit to Cumberland, Martinsburg and other points.
The Daughters of the Confederacy will meet at the home of Mrs. Bowen Friday afternoon, at 3 o'clock.
Guy Bowman who spent a week visiting here, returned to Luke Sunday. His family will remain here awhile.
Rev. Simon Riggleman and wife, of Parsons, spent a few days last week visiting relatives in the community.
Miss Clementine Lemley, of the Graded School faculty, spent the week-end with home folks at Stephens City, Va.
Scott Simon and son, of Martinsburg spent Tuesday here on their way to Petersburg, where the former went on business.
Miss Virgie Etzie, who has been visiting here, returned to Akron last Saturday. She was accompanied by Mrs. E. J. Weave.
Mrs. I. S. Gamble left this morning for Denver, Colorado, where she will spend the winter, for the benefit of her health.
Mrs. Gen. W. McCauley, who spent a week in Baltimore and other Eastern cities, returned to her home here Tuesday evening.
A. R. McNally, Jeanne Fisher and D. B. McNally spent from Saturday until Tuesday in New York City, making the trip by automobile.
H. B. Klah, of Cumberland, Traveling Passenger Agent of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad spent Monday night here on business.
John Shanholtz, Arno Friddle, Reginald Sayler, Barney Fisher and Bob Williams are in Hampshire county this week deer and turkey hunting.

T. I. Bergdoll, who was injured at his mill some months ago, has so far recovered as to be able to discard his crutches, though he has to use a cane.
Geo. K. Judy, who has been in Baltimore undergoing treatment for several weeks, returned to his home here Sunday and we are glad to say is improved.
Ira Liggett and Herman Halterman left Saturday morning for Eastern Canada. They expect to go to Canada and look over that country and perhaps locate there.
Bark Violet, Woodrow, Otto Joe Miller, Bill Wilson and Roy Seth, of Akron, Ohio, came in this week to spend several weeks with relatives in this county.
D. G. Marshall, of Romney, spent Tuesday here among his many friends. Mr. Marshall was going over this territory for Cal Ours, who has been quite sick for a few days.
Claude Soabe, Ed Hulstanick, John Jay Ed Band and several friends, from Petersburg, were here Saturday on their way to Rio where they will spend a week hunting deer.
The regular preaching service at Baker's Chapel next Sunday afternoon at 2:30. The revival services will begin there on Sunday night at 7:30 and will continue through the week.
Mrs. R. C. Wilson entertained a number of the little friends of her son James, last Friday afternoon. Needless to say the little folks thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and the various games played.
Mrs. Roy Halterman was taken to Cumberland last week where she underwent a successful operation for appendicitis. Mr. Halterman and Dr. Gochenour accompanied her, returning home Sunday.
Emory Vermilien, who has been working in Cumberland, came home last week and has accepted a position in W. L. Wilson's store, in place of Wm. Powell, who has gone to Romney to accept a position in a bank there.
Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Harper took their daughter, Miss Mary to the hospital yesterday morning, where she will undergo an operation for appendicitis. If she could stand the trip they were going to Clarksburg, and if not would stop at Cumberland.
Mrs. Vincent A. Allen and Miss Kathleen Allen spent the week-end recently at Terra Alta with Mrs. G. R. Allen. They were joined at Terra Alta by G. K. Allen and Miss Genevieve Allen, who also spent the week-end, returning to their home at Gauley Mills Monday morning.
Miss Lovie Boggs of Franklin, W. Va., arrived Wednesday of last week for a visit with her cousins, Miss Ann and brother Will Harper. Miss Boggs is a grand-daughter of the late Gen. John Boggs of West Virginia, who was a personal friend of Isaac VanMeter during the civil war.-Mansfield Ill. Ex. Press.
