Trinidad, Colo., June 19.-A movement that may result in the removal of the remains of the noted pioneer scout, Kit Carson, from the lonely burial place in the cemetery at Taos, N. M., to this city, and the erection of a monument, is suggested in a letter that has been received by Mayor Taylor, a life-long friend and associate of Carson, from Congressman Taylor.
If this step is taken it will be in connection with the gigantic celebration attending the unveiling of the monument, which, to be appropriate, would be December 24 next, the 100th anniversary of the birth of Carson.
Congressman Taylor writes that he will introduce a bill in congress to appropriate $10,000 for the erection by the government of a suitable monument to Kit Carson in Trinidad, or if the remains are not to be brought here, over his grave at Taos.
