Smith Ovation

Returns to Home State in Triumph After Address.

NEW YORK, Oct. 30.(AP)--With three more speeches to deliver within a radius of 20 miles of his native city, Governor Smith is back at his base operations today laying plans for his final drive for the presidency.

Arriving here at 6:00 o'clock this morning after an oral thrust last night at the anti-Saloon League and the Ku Klux Klan in Baltimore, the governor remained in his special car until 10:30. A large crowd welcomed him at the station and on the way to the hotel. The remainder of today the governor set aside for rest and preparation of his speech to be delivered tomorrow night at Newark, N. J.
