Attempted Incendiarism.

At 1:15 this morning Officer Moriarity discovered a fire against a shed at the rear of John Connor's boarding-house on Minnesota street between Fourth and Fifth streets. With the aid of Mr. Connor, the policeman put out the fire without sending in an alarm, and then found that an armful of hay had been piled against the shed and set on fire. When discovered the flames were blazing high and lighting up the whole neighborhood. The boards against which the fires were built were considerably scorched, and it is apparent if the fire had not been seen so quickly the house might have been destroyed.
