The Torrington Man of War arrived at Woolwich from Lisbon, last from Helvoetsluys, carrying 10 Men and a Boy brought by the Diamond Man of War from Newfoundland and transferred at Lisbon for trial at a High Court of Admiralty for offenses on the high seas. Five Frenchmen charged with murdering their Captain, Mate, and 2 Men, then running away with the Ship. The Boy is the principal Evidence against them. They were brought from Woolwich under a strong Guard to the Marshalsea Prison, Southwark.
