Unit Organizes
This Bilbo Must Go Movement was organized in Atlanta Thursday night in a meeting at the Butler Street YMCA.
The meeting was called by Dr. E. G. Boddie, While Rev W S. Smith was elected chairman of the committee and Mrs J. L Jackson, secretary. Other members of the committee included B. F. Cofer. Rev. W. H. Borders. Rev. A. M. F. Scott, Charles Greenlea, J. E. Matthews, Rev. W. S. Smith. Charles Mathias and E. G. Boddie.
In a message calling for Bilbo's demise in the senate. the group said: 'Senator Bilbo stands for and advocates everything that over eight million soldiers-brown, black. yellow, and white--men and women died in World War II to defeat
For Bilbo to sit in the Senate of the United States would be a d-. insult to the memory of these men. Therefore, we respectfully request Senators George and Russell to vote against seating Senator Bilbo. His election is a threat to democracy. labor, veterans and all high ideals of America and humanity.'
The Bilbo Must Go meeting was sponsored by the United Negro and Allied Veterans of America. The meeting pledged to use every legal means possible to keep the Mississippi senator from taking a seat in Congress in January.
