Native Gold.—A lump of N. Carolina Gold has been submitted to the curious of N. York, among them, Dr. Mitchell, who pronounce it to be a remarkable specimen, both for size and purity.

On the plantation of a Mr. Reed, in North Carolina, gold to the value of at least $100,000, has been found—most of which has been sent to the mint in Philadelphia. A company has purchased of Reed the exclusive privilege of searching for gold on his plantation, for seven years. It is obtained by shoveling the earth into a large trough, and then pouring in water and washing it, when the gold settles to the bottom.
