CITY AND STATE AFFAIRS.

Fair—Don't forget that the Fair in furtherance of the Temperance cause will begin to-night. Based on the liberal and extended plan on which it is projected and the energy which has been mainly employed in getting it up, we are confident it will be a grand affair. Let all attend who can find it convenient.

The Fair.—We are requested by the ladies of the Fair, to say that they will serve a hot dinner at their rooms on Main street, adjoining the Drug Store of Dr. Seay, from 1 to 3 o'clock, and that they will be glad to see all who feel inclined to help them in their good work. The price for dinner will be 75 cents, including every expense of Oysters, &c. Supper will be served from 7 to 9 o'clock in the evening, price of supper including everything, will be 50 cents.

We would suggest to the gentlemen that this would be a convenient and an agreeable way of spending an hour on this never to be forgotten day. Go and enjoy the presence and the good dinner of the ladies, and talk for a season of Washington and his love of country.
