HARTFORD, (Conn.) February 18.

Upwards of 40,000 dollars have been subscribed within the last ten days at the bank of this city, towards the five millions of dollars to be loaned to government—and upwards of 30,000 more will be subscribed in the course of the present week towards the same loan. Those who wish to become subscribers will recollect that the business must close in this city on Wednesday next, and the receipts be transmitted by the mail on Thursday morning, in order to reach Philadelphia by the 28th inst.
