Copenhagen, Dec. 24. The Mathematician who was sent by the King some Time ago into Iceland, to make Astronomical Observations, and examine into the Nature and Productions of that Country, has sent Memorials concerning the Discoveries he has made. He observes, among other Things, that this Island produces a great Quantity of Salpetre, that there is Earth in some Places of it fit to make China, and Stones which contain Silver, &c. He sent some of these Stones here, and according to the Assay which was made of them, it appear'd that 100 lb. Weight of them produced six Ounces of fine Silver.
