Full Text

Speaking of a heavy yield of wheat, the Chattanooga Times of the 5th says Capt. Wm. Strange, of McLemore's Cove, Sheriff of Walker Co. Ga. informs us that the wheat crop of that county is the heaviest in yield of any since the war. The breadth sown has not been great, owing to the discouragements attending the growing of wheat for a number of years Mr. C. I. Conley, of the Cove, threshed his crop of twenty acres and realized 656 bushels of clean wheat of the Boughton (white) variety. The grain is remarkably fine and plump, and will in a few days be sold in this market.
