A Shocking Murder.

MR. WM. J. RICHEY, we are informed, was brutally murdered, on his own premises, near Donaldsville in this District, one night last week.

Mr. Richey had returned from a wedding party, at which his family (a wife and two or three children) remained, and was found dead in his own yard next morning.

A maul, lying by, bore marks of having been the instrument of death. The door of his smoke-house was open, and the presumption is that a thief or thieves committed the murder. No further discovery has been made.
