Full Text
Murder.—We learn that a man named Zipperman was killed on Sunday morning last by Patton Keen in the east end of Russell county. As far as we can learn, the origin of the difficulty is that Keen had a severe dog which was in the habit of running out in the road at persons as they passed, and Zipperman, passing by there on Sunday morning, told Keen that if his dog came out of his yard he would kill him. The dog jumped over the fence into the road, and Zipperman killed him. Keen then went into his house, armed himself, and followed Zipperman a short distance, and shot him, killing him instantly. Keen then returned home, got his horse, and left for parts unknown. We wish he may be caught.—Giles County Gazette.
