Full Text
In Philadelphia a divorce reform association is seeking to abridge divorces by reducing the number of causes for which divorce shall be granted. But the question seems to be, shall the absence of the remedy, or the demand for it, constitute reform. To increase the grounds of divorce and diminish the applications would denote moral progress, which ought to be the measure of reform. That is to say, the thing to be desired is not to want divorce. When the courts shall find their dockets free from that class of suits there will be no more work for a divorce reform association.
