Places Sought For Students

Efforts were continued today to provide educational facilities for high school pupils of the Spencer School district.

Accommodations have already been arranged for some of the pupils who will go to the Ypsilanti High School. Approximately 29 ninth graders and 15 tenth graders who have enrolled previously will be accommodated in Ypsilanti, but no more will be accepted in these grades. However, Superintendent E. H. Chapelle states, there is still room for students in the 11th and 12th grades if they apply at the high school office immediately.

Supt. Chapelle explained that the local school will take Spencer pupils only insofar as they will not crowd classes. No more than 35 pupils will be taken in any class section this year, he stated, as a result of a policy determined in a recent meeting of the Board of Education. The Ypsilanti schools are providing for an expected increased enrollment of pupils from within the city school district, he said.

In the Spencer district this week a canvass and registration of pupils of high school age is under way, and plans are being completed to send pupils who cannot be accommodated in Ypsilanti to other nearby schools.
