SOUTHERN ADVOCATE
FRIDAY, JUNE 15, 1838.
** The proceeds of this paper will be equally divided among all the annual conferences, to be applied in spreading the Gospel, and in aiding distressed and superannuated preachers, and the widows and orphans of those who have died in the work.
Such of our city subscribers as do not get their papers regularly, we would be glad if they would inform us as soon as convenient.
We very much regret that the account of the revival among the students of the GEORGIA Conference MANUAL LABOR SCHOOL never reached us. We are always glad to receive intelligence of this kind, and never pass it over slightly. We hope it is not yet too late to be furnished with an account of it for publication, which if received, we will with pleasure give a place in our columns.
We are happy in being able to furnish our readers with a more particular account of the work of God in Wilmington, N. C. furnished us by Brother Wheeler, the Stationed Minister at that place. The account we gave last week was not written for publication, but was a private letter from Brother Crook, soliciting ministerial assistance. Will not our brethren in other places let us know what the great Head of the Church is doing for them?
BISHOP ANDREW arrived in this city in good health from New York, on last Friday afternoon and left early next morning for Georgia. The following letter which he kindly furnished us with for publication, will be read with pleasure by all our subscribers. We hope it will not be long before we shall be furnished with similar communications from the Bishop.
