BOSTON, OCT. 13, 1821.

Trial of Martin.

The trial of Michael Martin came on yesterday before the Supreme Court for the County of Middlesex. Present, Chief Justice Parker, and Justices Thacher, Putnam, and Jackson— The prisoner was charged with a highway robbery on the person of Maj. John Bray, perpetrated on the Medford turnpike the 13th of August last. The prosecution was conducted by the Solicitor-General; and the prisoner was very ably defended by Leonard M. Parker and Samuel L. Knapp, Esqs. After an absence of about two hours, the jury returned a verdict of GUILTY. The punishment for this crime is death. Sentence will probably be pronounced on the prisoner early in the next week.
