GREYBULL PLANS BIG FORTY-NINER EVENT
Prizes will go to the oldest cowboy, oldest cowgirl, the best horse as well as to the best floats and costumes entered in the Big Days of '49 parade in Greybull, Wyo., June 14, O. J. Deveraux, parade chairman, announced Wednesday morning.
Prizes will be offered in three main events, he said—costumes, floats and individual. Under the float division two themes will be recognized as worthy of consideration by the judges. These will be Days of '49 floats and those called colorful floats but not necessarily of a 49-er theme. Prizes of $30 for first place will be offered in the 49-er float division, with $20 going to second place and $10 for third place. In the colorful float branch first prize money will be $15, second $10, and third $5.
In the costume division three classes will be judged. These are: Most typical Days of '49 costume, best Indian costume and best western costume. Three prizes will be offered in each class. First place will receive $7.50, second place $5, and third place $3. Under individual prizes, $10 each will go to the oldest cowboy, oldest cowgirl and to the best horse in the parade.
In addition to the regular parade prizes, $10 each will go to the winner of the heaviest beard, most spectacular beard and the best trimmed beard.
