We do our selves the Pleasure to acquaint you, that we have Advices by two Vessels from Spain, who met with Admiral Haddock off of Cadiz, and this Day by a Vessel from Lisbon in 4 Days, that the War was begun: The latter brings us Advice, that the Gibraltar of 20 Guns was attack'd by two Spanish Men of War of 50 and 60 Guns, defended her self as long as she could, and then blew up, whether the Captain or any of the People escap'd we cannot say. The former advises us that Admiral Haddock was cruizing off of Cadiz for the Galleons, and to prevent a Squadron of 12 Sail in the Groyne, from joyning with 19 Sail in Cadiz; and that he expected Admiral Norris, Lord Forbes, and Admiral Cavendish, to join him. We have no Certainty yet, That either France, Holland, or Portugal, have declar'd themselves.
