WIFE SLAYS HUSBAND IN SELF DEFENSE

A sensational tragedy took place in Hamtramck last Saturday at the home of Samuel Mays, at Delmont and Buffalo Boulevard, when William Thomas was shot and fatally wounded by a shotgun in the hands of his wife, Mary Belle Thomas. After the shooting, the injured man ran from the house and collapsed at a store a block away. He was rushed to St. Francis Hospital, where he died an hour later.

According to reports, the murder was in self defense. The husband, it is alleged, had shot his wife three times in a previous family dispute.

Mrs. Thomas was exonerated Monday of blame for the murder.
