Full Text

THE ARREST OF ALLSOP.

The Supposed Duluth Murderer Taken Into Custody Very Quietly.

James Sheehan, who happened to be of considerable service in connection with the Allsop arrest, was not a little indignant at what he termed the tattle to the effect that when Courtney, the Minneapolis detective, arrested the supposed Duluth murderer, he exclaimed, "The world is mine."

"I can see very easily," said Mr. Sheehan, "who the author of the silly report is and, as I was present when the arrest was made, I know that the assertion that Courtney used any such language is slanderous. Allsop was taken into custody today in a very quiet and gentlemanly way, without any demonstration whatsoever. If the man who originated such a fantastic tale earned his money as faithfully as Mr. Courtney does, he would probably command more respect from his superiors and the public at large. I would not say anything about the matter were Courtney here, but, as he is absent, I think it only right that I should brand as an untruth this cheap story concerning the arrest."
