"The Summit County Polio Society thinks it is vitally important that the two nurses- which the Society is maintaining in the Akron Health Department and the Summit County Health Department keep abreast with all new polio developments", Fred W. Danner, newly re-elected President of the Society stated this week, "Therefore we are sending them to the Ohio District Nurses' Convention at Cincinnati on March 26th. 27th and 28th."
The new Executive Board of the Society, a United Fund Agency, held its first meeting Wednesday noon to carefully review their program of securing blood donors for the Red Cross blood collection in order to insure adequate reserve of Gamma Globulin which has proven recently to be of value in the prevention and treatment of polio.
Other officers re-elected to serve during 1953 include Chas. B. Webb, Vice President; Jacob Baker, Secretary, and Ben Ansley, Treasurer.
