[COMMUNICATION.]

Messrs. Manning & Trumbull—

We do not intend to detract from the merits or claims of any gentleman already in nomination for the Register of Deeds; but would with submission recommend

Mr. ARTEMAS WARD,

as a more suitable and more deserving candidate than any other in the County. He has been a faithful, dexterous, correct, honest, and affable Clerk in that office for more than six years, at very low wages compared with the whole emolument. No fault has ever been alleged against him, but, on the contrary, he has been highly commended by all who have done business with him; and, having toiled at the laborious duties so long, so faithfully, and so diligently, we do not think it unreasonable he should share the honours and the profits in his turn.
