Finding out a Good Thing.
The water from the gas well at the foot of town is coming to be regarded as a very valuable acquisition by our people. It would be a surprise to many to know how numerous the patrons of that well are becoming. On some evenings a line of ten or fifteen persons, forming a kind of bucket brigade, can be seen filing up from the well with their vessels full of the sparkling fluid.
This is another illustration of how soon a good thing will be found out. The water from this well is the finest ever seen. It is not only absolutely pure but possesses qualities that make it very beneficial to the system when used as a beverage. A constant use of it will cleanse the system and give tone to the blood-not from any mineral or medicinal qualities-but solely from the fact that it is soft and pure. These qualities themselves make it the best medicine. There is nothing so beneficial to the system as a glass of pure, soft water. If the gas well water is used for a time it will manifest its healthful properties in improving the complexion, softening the skin, and generally eliminating impurities from the blood.
If we can't have this water piped through the town, an enterprising boy might get into a good business by supplying it regularly to those who want it. His customers would increase when the people came to know the benefit of the water until one horse and wagon would not meet the demand.
