The President sent the following nominations to the Senate yesterday: To be paymaster in the United States army with the rank of major—First-Lieutenant George W. Baird, of the Fifth Infantry; George F. Robinson, of Maine; William E. Creary, of Michigan, and D. R. Larned, of New Jersey. To be quartermasters, with the rank of captain—First Lieutenant Alonzo E. Mittenmore, of First Artillery; First Lieutenant Charles H. Humphrey, of the Fourth Artillery, and Second Lieutenant Charles W. Williams, Eighteenth Infantry.
