JEFFERSON.
The Whigs have nominated Messrs. T. S. Duke and J. M. Jewett—Mr. Worthington retiring. The public will sustain a loss in this gentleman, who have known but few more useful members of the House of Delegates. Sensible, calm, attentive. He occupied but little of the time of the House, but that was always employed to the best advantage.
The Democrats have nominated Messrs. T. A. Herrington and J. W. Beller, for form's sake or compliment. It would require something more potent than burnt brandy to vagre either of them.
