The Legislature of this State commenced its Fall session in this town on Monday last, but did not form a quorum, till Tuesday—when Nathan B. Sprague, Esq. of Smithfield, was unanimously chosen Speaker—and Wm. R. Staples, and Wm. S. Patten, Esqs. Clerks.

The only business of importance that has thus far been transacted, has been the election of a United States' Senator, an account of which will be found in another column of this day's paper. Some local business, such as receiving and granting petitions, has been transacted—but nothing worth reporting.
