Mr. William Cooper of Long Hill, accompanied by his hired man, was driving from Millington towards home during the thunder shower of Thursday of last week, when lightning struck the side of the carriage, breaking one of the bows and otherwise injuring the vehicle. Mr. Cooper was considerably stunned and for the time was rendered insensible; the reins dropped from his hands, but were gathered up by his companion, and the horses stopped. Mr. Cooper received no serious injury, but considers it a narrow escape.
