Full Text

June 14. The Crim Tartars are going to put themselves under the Protection of the Czarina, as the Cossacks of Ukrania have already done ; which the Basha of Choczim resented so very much, that he threatened to put them to the Sword, and set Fire to their Country, unless they returned to their Allegiance: But the Frontiers are so well covered by the Troops under the Command of the Prince of Hesse Hombourg, that they laughed at the impotent Rage of this cowardly Basha, who is not able to defend himself, any more than the Governor of Azoph, who has hung out the White Flag, and demanded to capitulate: But the Russians would grant him no Terms. And insisted upon his Surrendering at Discretion; which the Letters from Wallachia say he has done the 21st past.
